Club PRO Notes

1 May 2012

On Saturday last the Senior team travelled to Dromard to play St Pat’s in the League. Once again the team had to settle for Silver going under by 0 – 17 to 2 – 6 to the homeside. The team has no action this comong weekend. The Club wishes Co Chairman, Cyril Feehily, the Executive, Co Manager Kevin Walsh, backroom team and the Co Players every success as they commence their Connacht Championship campaign in the Big Apple. Lets hope its the same outcome as it was the last time they travelled to New York and ended up as Connacht Champions. The Club also wishes the An Post Tour of Sligo success with the event this comong weekend. Both the 160km and the 100km passes through the area. The 160 enters at Masshill and exits at Loughill while the 100 enters at Carnaleck and too exits in Loughill. The Club is asking Gaels to come out and show their support for the cyclists as they pass through.Well done to local GAA Club Coolaney/Mullinabreena on their staging of the 80km Cycle on Saturday last. It also passed through the Area, with Brennan’s, Cloonacool used as one of the stops. A number of cyclists from the area partipicated in the event. Good luck to Curry with their Cycle Day on Saturday in honour of one of Sligo GAA’s true gentlemen, Johnny Stenson. The club wish Club Chairman, Fr Dan o’Mahony every success with his Church Concert in St Michael’s Church, Cloonacool on Sunday next 6 May.
