Next Saturday 16thJune 2012, a date to mark in your Diary, Following on from Sligo Connacht Senior Championship Semi Final success, Brennanís, Cloonacool is the place to be this night for what promises to be a night not to forget in a hurry on the Banks of the Moy. Itís the Night Cloonacool GAA got Talent show comes our way. Forget the Voice of Ireland, the Eurovision & youíre a Star. This is one not to be missed on a night when the GAA are out to prove their voices is as good as their playing skills. There will be a number of acts and a winner will be voted for on the night. Tickets are Ä5 and can be purchased from any club member. There will be a draw for Ä500 on the night. During the past 2 weeks the Club discovered their fate in this yearís Junior Championship. The Club will play St Johnís, Geevagh & St Molaise Gaels on 2 weekends in July and a weekend in August. The Junior Semi Finals are fixed for weekend of 25th/26th August with the Final penciled in for Weekend of September 9th/10th. Sympathy is extended to our Club President Fr Kevin Johnston and the extended Brett & Johnston Families on the passing of May Brett, Carrowreagh Knox last week. Saturday 9th June proved to be a great day for Sligo GAA folk. In the evening Sligo defeated Galway in Salthill in the Connacht Championship semi final. Hours earlier the Sligo U Ė 14 Girls were creating their own bit of history in Augher, Co Tyrone as they qualified for the U Ė 14 All Ireland Championship Final defeating Derry in the All Ireland Semi Final. Congratulations to Kevin Walsh and Co on their success and to Annette Kearns, Cammie Kennedy and Edel Healy on their achievements. Who knows maybe Tommy Breheny & Pat Costello can make it another double on 24th June when Sligo Minors & Sligo Ladies play Castlebar. Patís Ladies play Leitrim at 12noon follow by Tommyís Minors. Local girl Tara Carty had the chance to play in Salthill on Saturday evening last during the break in the Galway Sligo Championship game.Good luck to all from the area who will participate in the Cycle in aid of the MS Respite Centre, Sligo on Saturday next 16 June. The Cycle it self will pass Cloonacool in route back to Sligo. A number of U Ė 14ís from the area will be part of the local GAA team heading for Feile in Co Offaly to represent Sligo on the weekend of June 22nd/24th. On this weekend a Cake Sale will take place after both Masses with the proceeds going towards the cost of the Weekend. Support would be appreciated around 8.30pm on Saturday evening and around 11am on Sunday.
