Club PRO Notes

19 December 2012 The Club’s AGM will take place on Friday 28thDecember 2012 at 4pm in the meeting rooms of Cloonacool Community Park. All Officers, Players and anyone interested in the running of the Club in the coming year are asked to make every effort possible to attend. Anyone with suggestions, recommendations etc are asked to have them lodged with Club Secretary Fergus Leonard not later than Saturday 22ndDecember 2012. Later that night the Club’s Annual Social will take place in Brennan’s, Cloonacool. A Church gate collection for Ladies Football, County wide will take place on the weekend of December 22nd / 23rd. All support will be appreciated. With the playing season complete, activities have now switched to events off the playing front with plans at an advanced stage for a night of Celebrations/Presentations for the Victorious Junior Team. This will take place on Saturday night 9thFebruary 2013 in the Sligo Park Hotel. The Co Finals of Scor na nOg will take place on Sunday 6thJanuary 2013 at 2pm. Anyone from the Club area interested in taking part in Scor na nOg can they please contact the Chairman, Secretary or any member of the Club in the next week or two. Keeping on the 35 years since the Club was reformed, the Club’s Patron for the past number of Years – since 2000 – has been Michael Rowley. For a number of years Michael managed Cloonacool teams both at underage and Senior Level and was also actively involved in Ladies Football both for the Club and County for a number of years. Michael guided Cloonacool Ladies to the Connacht Junior Club Championship Title back in 2000 and guided the Club to 3 Junior Titles in 1996, 2000 & 2003. He served as Club Treasurer from 2000 – 2002. The Club extends sympathy to the Sligo relations & family & friends of Kerry Great Padie O’ Se who passed to his eternal reward at the weekend. The late Paudie was a guest at a manager’s contest as part of Cloonacool Community Park personality “Paddy O’Hara’s” contest back in 1998. On the night his fellow County man Hugh o’ Flaherty introduced him to the gathering in the Yeat’s County Hotel in Curry.
