On Sunday last the Cloonacool/Tubbercurry U – 20 Team traveled to Bunninadden to play St Mary’s in the Co U – 20A Championship Final. The area is represented by Jason Brennan, Damien Sweeney, Patrick Killeen, Jack McIntyre & Niall Brennan. On the Day they were to come up short on a scoreline of 1 – 11 to 2 – 12. Still with most of the Team available again for 2014 the future looks bright for the South Sligo Town & Country Parish. In 2016 the Club will celebrate 100 Years of the GAA in the area. In January a committee will get together to make plans for the celebrations during that season. On Saturday 9 November, A group of over 30 people from Connecticut visited Cloonacool as part of a Wynne Family gathering. They were back to visit their Family homestead in Mollagh. They commenced their day with Mass in Cloonacool Church celebrated by one of the group Fr Paul Merri. After refreshments in Brennan’s, Cloonacool the group headed for the Mountains in the company of their local cousins, the Whites, McVann’s, Walker’s, Henry’s & Seery’s to visit the old homestead of the Late Martin & Annie Wynne who’s sister Mary, this travelling group belonged to. After taking photographs the group decended and traveled to visit both Kilcummin & Cloonacool Cementery before travelling on, on their 10 day Tour of the West coast. Club Chairman Fr Dan o\'Mahony was on hand to greet the Group as they arrived in Cloonacool.
