Club PRO Notes

21st Jan 2014

Our annual Cloonacool 5k Road Race takes place on Sunday, 16th February at 12 o’clock. A good, flat course for all athletic enthusiasts. Runners, joggers, walkers, all welcome. Changing and shower facilities available. Lots of prizes and refreshments afterwards. Congratulations to Jack Carty who recently started for Connacht as outhalf. His grandfather Oliver is a native of Cloonacool. The club is currently looking for anyone with an interest in becoming a referee. This is a very important part of our games. It would be great to have our own club represented. Membership is due for the coming year. A registration evening for all underage teams will take place in the community park in the coming weeks, date to be confirmed. Support Your Local GAA Club: Croke Park are running a national draw for all clubs in the country. Tickets are on sale at €10 each, prizes provided by Croke Park. Each club will retain the proceeds of the tickets sold by the club. Draw will take place in Croke Park on St. Patrick’s Day. All support is greatly appreciated. Senior training will start back the beginning of February. Workshop on ‘Black Card Rules’ for all coaches, senior and underage on Wednesday, 22nd January at 8pm in the Radisson Hotel, Sligo.
